Blewett Pass - Highway

All to often overlooked by many of us traveling the central region of Washington State is this scenic north-south drive between the eastern sides of Snoqualmie Pass and the Stevens Pass highways. Blewett Pass is a 54-mile drive that travels north and south through the long needle pines of the Wenatchee Mountains. This scenic drive travels over the less traveled but highly scenic Blewett Pass.

Restaurants are available in Liberty as well as in Ellensburg, Pashastin, Leavenworth and Wenatchee.

Ellensburg Washington

To the south along interstate 90 is the town of Ellensburg where hotels and lodging are plentiful but during the popular seasons it is wise to always call ahead and reserve a room to make sure your lodging needs are met. We suggest trying the restaurants west of Ellensburg in Cle Elum and also in Roslyn WA for some great home cooked meals.

Leavenworth and Wenatchee Washington

Leavenworth and Wenatchee Washington to the north both offer hotels and lodging to extend your trip. Restaurants of every type are available in Wenatchee and some outstanding choices are available for Barvarian food in Leavenworth too.

What you will see when driving Blewett Pass: Historic old turn of the century gold mines, popular hiking trails and both developed and undeveloped camping sites dot this scenic Washington drive. The best travel season is found in the summer and early fall when the foliage turns it's golden, red and blue colors painting the hillsides both along the road and on the trails. Interesting places to see include the turn-of-the-century mining town of Liberty, recreation opportunities abound and camping is available along the trip.
